services provided by many of the area's finest rehabilitation specialists, making
it one of Southern California's most respected rehabilitation centers. Memorial
Rehabilitation is also accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation of
Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The goal of the MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute is to help
persons with disabilities regain independence and rebuild their lives in an
environment where loved ones are involved in the rehabilitation process.

MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute Receives Best Practice Award from California Hospital Association
The MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute's Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) at Long Beach Memorial has been chosen to receive a Best Practices Award for a submission entitled "IRF LEAN Rapid Process Improvement 2010-The First 96 Hours". The annual best practice awards have become one of the most popular features of the annual joint meeting between the Center for Medical Rehabilitation Services (CMRS) and Hospital Services for Continuing Care (HSCC). Entries were received from hospital based skilled nursing facilities and inpatient rehabilitation facilities from throughout the state. The practices addressed a wide range of topics and included clinical practices, patient safety projects and programs to improve operational efficiency.
